This limited edition serigraph by Abecassis is a metaphorical representation of the Song Of Songs. Also known, as Song of Solomon, in the Jewish tradition this song is taken to be an allegory for the relationship between God and Israel. The serigraph is ridden with Judaic imagery, including Jacob's ladder, and the dove which is symbolic of peace. Shir Hashirim, meaning song of songs, is also written in Hebrew letters. The vibrant colours serve in conjunction with this imagery, to highlight the vibrancy of the biblical tradition. The prominence of Israel's colors, blue and white, points to the biblical importance of the state of Israel. The serigraph is printed on paper and signed by the artist in the bottom right corner.
